edit, crop, adapt or otherwise alter them;
remove, cover or conceal a watermark or other copyright information, including by using software or artificial intelligence (AI) tools;
attempt to restore or reconstruct any detail that has been deliberately masked for privacy.

Violations may be pursued through civil claims for damages and/or criminal prosecution, including under:

Law No. 28 of 2014 on Copyright — Article 5 (moral rights), Article 7(3) (removing or altering copyright information), Article 9 (economic rights), Article 99 (claims for damages), and Articles 112–113 (criminal provisions: imprisonment of up to 4 years, or up to 10 years for piracy, and/or fines), as adjusted by Law No. 1 of 2026 on the Adjustment of Criminal Penalties;
Law No. 11 of 2008 on Electronic Information and Transactions, as amended — Article 25 (websites and the intellectual works they contain are protected as intellectual property), Articles 32 and 48 (unlawful alteration or removal of electronic information).

UU No. 28 Tahun 2014 tentang Hak Cipta — Pasal 5 (hak moral), Pasal 7 ayat (3) (larangan menghilangkan atau mengubah informasi hak cipta), Pasal 9 (hak ekonomi), Pasal 99 (gugatan ganti rugi), serta Pasal 112–113 (pidana penjara hingga 4 tahun, atau hingga 10 tahun untuk pembajakan, dan/atau denda), sebagaimana disesuaikan dengan UU No. 1 Tahun 2026 tentang Penyesuaian Pidana;
UU No. 11 Tahun 2008 tentang Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik, sebagaimana telah diubah — Pasal 25 (situs internet dan karya intelektual di dalamnya dilindungi sebagai Hak Kekayaan Intelektual), Pasal 32 dan Pasal 48 (perubahan atau penghilangan Informasi Elektronik secara melawan hukum).
